I have finally decided that I will be getting Bariatric weight loss surgery and I will not be getting the Lap Band. I have decided on VSG aka Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. It is safer for me, I will see more results, and it is covered by insurance. I AM SO HAPPY! It didn't hit me until today that I will actually loose weight!!
VSG generates weight loss by restricting the amount of food (and therefore calories) that can be eaten by removing 80% of the stomach without bypassing the intestines or causing any gastrointestinal malabsorption. It is a purely restrictive operation. It is currently indicated as an alternative to the Lap-Band® procedure for low weight individuals and as a safe option for higher weight individuals.
This will actually work! I will actually look good! I will actually be happy!! BEST DAY EVER!

Hi! I've also decided to go for VSG. I'm 28 and here in Ontario, Canada, I've been waiting since last summer for my initial appointment. Fingers crossed it will be soon. I look forward to reading your adventure. Good Luck!
